Help Section

The Help section in Sparrow, integrated with Canny.io, provides a platform where users can receive support by viewing and interacting with feedback from other users. Users can submit their feedback, view feedback from others, upvote, and comment on different posts. They can also see their own feedbacks, comments, and upvotes in a dedicated section. Additionally, users can track the status of their feedback to see if it has been acknowledged and is being worked on. This section also allows users to view release notes for all releases of Sparrow, keeping them updated on new features and improvements.

Roadmap

The Roadmap in Sparrow provides a visual overview of all feedback at different stages of development: Under Review, In Progress, and Planned. This feature helps users track the status of feedback and the future direction of the application.

To access the roadmap:

  1. Navigate to the Roadmap: Open the Sparrow interface and click on the ‘Roadmap’ tab on the sidebar to view the feedback categorized into different stages, helping you understand the current development cycle.

Feedback on the roadmap is organized into three categories:

  • Under Review: Feedback that is currently being evaluated by the development team.
  • In Progress: Feedback that the team is actively working on.
  • Planned: Feedback that has been approved for future development and is scheduled for implementation.

Refine your view on the roadmap:

  1. Filtering Feedback: Use the ‘Categories’ dropdown to filter feedback by Bugs, UX Improvement, or Feature Requests. This allows you to focus on feedback that matches your area of interest or concern.

To view detailed feedback:

  1. Select Feedback: Click on any feedback title on the roadmap. This will redirect you to the specific feedback post within the Feedback section.
  2. Review Detailed Discussions: In the detailed view, you can view comprehensive discussions, status updates, and any associated activity related to the feedback. This includes comments from other users and responses from the development team, giving you a clear insight into the feedback lifecycle.

The Feedback module in Sparrow is designed to empower users to share their experiences and suggestions to improve the application. It offers a comprehensive system for both viewing and contributing feedback.

Accessing Feedbacks

To access feedbacks:

  1. Navigate to the Feedback tab on the Sparrow interface.
  2. Use the search bar to find specific feedback by keywords.
  3. Use the Categories and Status dropdowns to filter feedback based on your interest or relevance.
  4. Choose from sorting options like Trending, New, or Top to organize the view according to your preference.

Select any feedback from the list to view detailed information:

  1. Click on a feedback entry to open its detailed view.
  2. In the detailed view, users can see comments and sort them by New or Old to follow the discussion conveniently.
  3. Users can edit their feedback if needed, but cannot alter feedback submitted by other users.

  1. Click the + Add Feedback button in the Feedback tab.
  2. In the popup window, select a category for your feedback.
  3. Enter a concise subject and a detailed description of your feedback.
  4. Optionally, upload images to illustrate your points or issues.
  5. Click Add to submit your feedback to the system.

Editing and Managing Feedback

Feedback management is user-centric:

  1. Users can edit or delete their own feedback submissions.
  2. Updates to feedback are reflected in real-time, ensuring the community has access to the most current suggestions and issues.

Updates

The Updates section in Sparrow keeps users informed about the latest releases and improvements. It provides a comprehensive list of updates, including detailed release notes to help users understand the changes and enhancements made to the application.

  1. Navigate to the Updates Tab: Open the Sparrow interface and click on the ‘Updates’ tab in the sidebar to view a list of all recent updates, organized by release date.

  1. Select an Update: Click on any update entry from the list to view its full details.
  2. Review Update Details: Each entry includes tags such as New, Fixed, or Improved, indicating the nature of the update.

  1. Copy Link: Use the ‘Copy Link’ button to copy the direct link to the release notes, which can be shared or saved for reference.
  2. GitHub: Click on the GitHub button to navigate directly to the corresponding GitHub release note, allowing for deeper insights into the technical updates or to engage with the development community.
  3. LinkedIn: Select the LinkedIn button to view the Sparrow’s LinkedIn page where updates and other professional news are shared.

  1. Detailed View Presentation: A detailed view of the selected update is presented, offering in-depth information and extended notes.

Community

The Community section in Sparrow serves as a dynamic hub for user interaction and direct communication with the development team. This section leverages Discord to enhance real-time engagement and support, fostering a collaborative environment for all users.

To join the community:

  1. Navigate to the Community Tab: Open the Sparrow interface and click on the ‘Community’ tab in the sidebar.
  2. Join Our Discord Channel: Click on the ‘Join Our Discord Channel’ button to connect directly with other users and the development team in real-time discussions.

My Activity

The “My Activity” section in Sparrow provides a personalized space where users can track their contributions and interactions within the application. This includes posts, comments, and upvotes, ensuring users can easily revisit or follow up on their activity.

To view your activity:

  1. Navigate to My Activity: Open the Sparrow interface and click on the ‘My Activity’ tab on the sidebar.
  2. View Your Contributions: This section will display all your activities including your posts, comments made, and upvotes given, in a centralized feed, allowing you to quickly see your engagement across the application.

Utilizing Filters and Sorting

Enhance your search and organization of activities:

  1. Applying Filters: Use the ‘Categories’ dropdown to filter activities by type such as Feature Requests, UX Improvement, or Bugs. This helps you focus on specific areas where you have contributed or interacted.

To review a specific activity:

  1. Select an Activity: Click on any entry in the ‘My Activity’ list to delve deeper into your past interactions.

  2. Navigating Directly to Posts: For comments, you can click on the ‘Go to post’ link within the activity entry to be directly taken to the original post or feedback where the comment was made. This is helpful for continuing discussions or reviewing the context of the feedback.
